Venom: not known to be poisonous to humans.

 

Urticating Hairs: Yes, each turantula has thier own personality some being more docile than others. Uriticating hairs can cause irritation in your skin and could possibly result in blindness if they make it in your eyes. Gloves and Long sleeves are always recommended when handling any Tarantula.

 

Adult Size: DLS 5-6"

 

Expected Life Span: Females 20 years - Males 5-10 years

 

Temperature: 72°F - 80°F is ideal. Please avoid the use of heat pads as many Tarantulas burrow to get out of the heat.

 

Humidity: 75-80%

 

Natural Origins: Costa Rica, Honduras, and Nicaragua.

 

Habitat: A. seemmannis are terrestrial and opurtunistic burrowers. Meaning if given the chance, they will make thier own burrow in the substrate as deep as they can go. Providing adequate amount of substrate allows your T to dig to thier desired depth and will often spend thier time in thier burrows. 

 

Substrate: Peat and or topsoil have the ability to hold a burrow better than most other substrates.  minimun depth of 6" is adequate.

 

Diet: 

  • Adult

      Lg. Crickets, Adult Dubia, Superworms, Mealworms.

 

Sexing: Not all species of Tarantulas are dimorphic, Visual Differences in color and/or pattern between each sex. The best way to your tarantula is to examine its exuvia or molted exoskeleton.
